Cable and roller repair
Garage Door Cable & Roller Repair
Small parts. Big opinions. Rollers let the door glide along its tracks; lift cables connect the springs to the bottom of the door. Worn rollers are noisy. Worn cables are dangerous.
Signs you're dealing with this
- Squeaking, grinding or rattling as the door moves
- Cracked or wobbling rollers
- Frayed, rusted or kinked cables near the bottom brackets
- One side of the door rising faster than the other
- A cable hanging loose
Safety first. Don't touch lift cables or bottom brackets. They're connected to the springs and under tension. A frayed cable can snap without warning. Stop using the door if a cable looks damaged.
When to call a pro
Cable replacement and bottom-bracket work should always be handled by a technician.
