Garage Door Repair Help in Lafayette & West Lafayette
From older homes near downtown Lafayette to newer subdivisions on both sides of the Wabash, garage doors here work hard.
Two cities, a lot of garage doors
Lafayette and West Lafayette sit on opposite banks of the Wabash River in Tippecanoe County. You'll find everything from older homes with single-car garages near downtown to newer subdivisions with two- and three-car attached garages. Older doors often use extension springs along the tracks; most newer sectional doors use a torsion spring above the opening. Knowing which one you have helps you describe the problem.
Rental season is garage door season
With Purdue in West Lafayette, plenty of homes change hands or tenants every year. If you're a landlord or a new tenant, a noisy opener or a door that won't close all the way is worth reporting early, before it turns into a spring or cable failure.
Winter tells on worn parts
Tippecanoe County winters bring freeze-thaw cycles that stiffen lubricants and shrink weatherstripping. A door that struggles on the first cold morning usually had a problem before the cold showed up.
