Who we are
BackwardsLA ("we") operates leads.backwardsla.com, a referral service connecting Indiana homeowners with independent service providers.
What we collect
- Inquiry forms: the name, phone, email, ZIP code, city, problem type and message you choose to send.
- Calls to our tracking numbers: call metadata only: time, the number dialed, a protected (hashed) form of your phone number with its last four digits, approximate city if the carrier provides it, call duration, and whether the call connected. We do not record, listen to or transcribe calls.
- Website visits: a first-party cookie (
bla_vid) that links your visit to a later inquiry or call, plus the page you landed on and the referring site or campaign. This helps us measure which pages are useful. - Analytics (optional): if you allow it, Google Analytics 4 collects usage data under Google's terms. It stays off until you choose "Allow analytics".
- Email list (optional): if you sign up for garage door tips, your name and email are stored in our self-hosted email system (Sendy, on backwardsla.com) to send those emails. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- Contractor applications: business and contact details you submit.
How we use it
To respond to you, to connect you with one independent provider who has agreed to cover your area, to prevent spam and duplicate referrals, to measure and improve our service, and to keep accounting records with providers.
Who we share it with
With your consent on the form, we share your request with one participating independent provider. We use service providers (for example hosting, call-tracking and email) who process data for us. We do not sell your personal information.
How long we keep it
Call and inquiry records are kept for up to 12 months by default, and visit records for up to about 13 months, unless we need them longer for accounting, disputes or legal reasons.
Your choices
You can change analytics consent at any time with the "Cookie choices" link. To ask what we hold about you, or to have it corrected or deleted, use the contact form.
